There are some of them, like this, to have settled in the hearts of enthusiasts for eternity. Whether it's endurance or rally, motorsport has produced cars that marked their era. The Lancia Delta Integrale Group A is one of these timeless icons, and it is on the occasion of a test, eagerly awaited by yours truly, that we have decided to pay tribute to it on these pages.

Let's start by rewinding the story before discovering it in more detail. When the FIA ​​decided to abruptly end Group B regulations at the end of the 1986 season (following the accidents that cost the life of Attilio Bettega at the 1985 Tour de Corse and Henri Toivonen at the 1986 Tour de Corse), the group A find themselves propelled to the top of the global pyramid. With a base coming from a series model produced at a minimum of 2 units per year, we must now do without tubular chassis, long travel suspensions and oversized wheels, and above all make do with power levels reduced from 500 to 600 horses.
