Toyota F1, helmet, and Lancia Delta S4 for sale: the good deals of the week at Rétromobile

The official sale of the Rétromobile show (from February 5 to 9 at the Porte de Versailles in Paris) will notably offer a Ferrari 126 C3 from 1983, but other events of this type will take place in the French capital in the coming days.

At RM Sothebys, a helmet with a special history is on sale, because it was worn by Michael Schumacher during his victorious Malaysian Grand Prix in 2001. The event, contested on the Sepang circuit, was marked by a violent storm from the first laps.

The “Kaiser” had been trapped just like his teammate at Ferrari, Rubens Barrichello. The two men then lost time changing tires in the pits, but a huge mess kept Michael Schumacher behind his colleague for more than a minute!

The Safety Car was forced to neutralize the GP, so that the multiple cars stuck in the gravel could be cleared. Starting back in the heart of the peloton, Michael Schumacher would regain the lead on the 16th lap and never let go. Estimate: 40 to 000 euros.

At Bonhams, you can bid on la Toyota TF108-05 used by Jarno Trulli during his podium finish at the 2008 French Grand Prix. The purchase price is very competitive: between 60 and 000 euros! Well, okay, he missing the V8 engine and the entire electronic system, but you would impress your neighbors.

Visually, the bodywork has been adapted to the 2009 regulations with a simplified and wider front wing, while the rear wing is higher than the 2008 version. Below, is chassis n°05, retained for the season former.

If you want a real engine in a demanding car, up your stake around 600 euros to obtain a rare Lancia Delta S000 Stradale. This is quite simply the small series version (80 examples) that the Italian manufacturer built in order to obtain approval in Group B.

This copy only totals 3 km since it was put into service in 000, and given its unpredictable nature, that makes sense. The Delta S4 has a tubular chassis and its four-cylinder engine is devilish.

Thanks to a unique volumetric compressor system associated with a turbocharger, the torque explodes and the response time of the turbo is minimal. Power is 250 horsepower at 6 rpm for a weight of 750 kg. With a torque distribution of 1% at the front and 200% at the rear, beware of skidding!

Are you intimidated? Don't panic, the Lancia Delta HF Integrale 8V Group A is also available. This model was used in tests by legends Markku Alen and Miki Biasion in 1988 with its famous Martini Racing livery and retails for between 280 and 000 euros.

The problem is that it is not approved for the road. But after this check, you will have the chance to sit in the same seat as Markku Alen (his name is written on the seat)!
