A new Lelouch short film with Ferrari

In 1976, Claude Lelouch caused a sensation by directing a short film called It was a meeting. This film, lasting just over 8 minutes, featured an on-board camera sequence shot where a car was speeding through the streets of Paris on an open road.

The document was a great success with the public and provoked numerous debates. If the engine noise seems to come from a Ferrari, it is in fact a Mercedes 450SEL which was used for the film. Likewise, many pilots have been mentioned for having made the catch. In reality, it was the director who was at the wheel.

Still, Ferrari wants to reproduce a similar film, “Grand Rendez-Vous” with Claude Lelouch directing. 44 years later, however, there will no longer be any question of driving at high speed on open roads. The Prancing Horse will call on its titular pilot Charles Leclerc to roam the streets of Monaco behind the wheel of an SF90 Stradale, the brand's first hybrid car. It will be the sound of the 275 GTB used for the first short film which will be used.

Filming will take place on May 24, the day the Grand Prix was to take place before its cancellation caused by the coronavirus crisis.
