An EVO2 for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Huracan

It's only May 2021 but Lamborghini Squadra Corse is already announcing the color for the following year. The sports branch of Sant'Agata Bolognese (Italy) revealed this Wednesday, May 26, its new mount for the 2022 Super Trofeo one-make championship.

This is a Huracan Super Trofeo, in its EVO2. Centro Stile takes a look at the trans beastalpine to make it even more aggressive and aerodynamically efficient. “The Huracan EVO2 represents an approach futuristic aesthetic that partially anticipates design elements from the next range for the road ", even mentions Mitja Borkert, Director of Design.

The front face has been remodeled, as have the so-called “certain air” air intakes, to optimize airflow. The rear lights are an evocation of the legendary Countach, the supercar of the 1980s.

The coverings of the spars and aero elements at the rear change from plastic to carbon fiber, “while maintaining excellent profitability in terms of management costs” assures Lamborghini.

Still at the rear, the mudguards change and become just one single element, also including part of the side spoiler. Furthermore, the braking system becomes more efficient. The front steel discs increase from 380 to 390 mm.

Under the hood we find this good old 10-liter naturally aspirated V5,2, delivering 620 horsepower, coupled to a six-speed X-Trac sequential gearbox, always in rear-wheel drive.

“Seven years have passed since we presented the first Huracan Super Trofeo at Pebble Beach, remembers Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini.

The Huracan is one of the best sellers in the brand's history and the Super Trofeo has undoubtedly contributed to its success. » The EVO2 should allow the Italian firm to pass the milestone of 500 units produced. Sale price: 250 euros, excluding taxes of course! Customers will be able to purchase a kit to upgrade their current Huracan.
