Towards a PSA – FCA merger?

This is not the first time that the FIAT Chrysler Automobile group finds itself at the heart of a possible merger with a French manufacturer. After aborted discussions with Renault last May, the Italian-American entity could well turn to PSA to face the future.

The two groups have each confirmed ongoing discussions, to create one of the most important global structures. And according to AFP, citing a source close to the matter, this project could consist of a merger of equals between PSA and FCA, even if other options remain possible.

Still according to AFP, Carlos Tavares, current boss of PSA, would take the helm of the new group, when the board of directors would be led by John Elkann, currently at the head of FCA.
