René Rosin: “Motorsport is in my blood and in our family’s DNA”

As an Italian and a motorsport fan, we expected to see you arrive in Ferrari or in a Lamborghini! Why this Jeep?

Whoa! Ferrari and Lamborghini are the best, but it's beyond my means. (Laughs) 5 years ago, we had a great promotion from the Fiat group when we bought a truck, we had these two Jeeps (brand of the Fiat-Chrysler group, now integrated into the Stellantis alliance with PSA. Editor's note ) in the enterprise package. They are so comfortable that we thought why not. We prefer to take spacious cars in which we can work rather than sports cars. Especially since the arrival of Covid, because we travel even more by car.

You speak impeccable French, where does that come from?

I have a name that sounds French, but I'm not French at all. (Laughs) I don't even know why I speak French. I had two languages to choose from in college, I took English and French. The teacher was very competent. I learned quickly. And from 2005, when my father Angelo asked me to become a Formula team manager Renault 3.5, I often practiced because the people in the organization were mainly French. My wife Angelina, who also works at Prema, grew up in Villefranche-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes. Editor’s note). Afterwards, I am better at speaking than at writing! My son Alessandro who is 10 years old and my daughter Sofia who is 8 years old go to an English-speaking school. Angelina mainly speaks Greek with the children because she is from there. We take them there every year to soak up the sun and the sea. We're quite open, but let's make no mistake: I'm 100% Italian and proud to have been born in Vicenza!

Today and in recent years, ART Grand Prix, DAMS and R-ace GP have been your main competitors in the different categories of promotional formulas. And these are French stables…

The only team we face in all cases
