The king of gymkhana is back! Ken Block published this Tuesday, October 25, his ninth performance in the field of controlled skids and spectacular figures, with a new concept: Electrikhana.

The short film, lasting around ten minutes, was shot in Las Vegas. All the mythical places of the “City of Sin”, such as the casinos of the Strip, the replica of the Eiffel Tower and the luxurious hotels are visited by the American driver aboard a new racing car: the Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron.

This prototype was developed and assembled by Audi Sport, while the Audi Design design office was responsible for the style of the funny machine, which is reminiscent of the glorious Quattro S1 seen at Pikes Peak in 1987 from Walter Röhrl. This Audi is equipped with two electric motors, the power of which unfortunately is not communicated. In view of the car's monumental grip, the transmission is obviously integral. The chassis is made of carbon fiber and meets the highest FIA safety levels.

“With the S1 Hoonitron, we have once again placed innovation at the heart of Audi,” says Oliver Hoffmann, board member for technical development at Audi AG. “Developing a fully electric prototype to meet Ken Block's unique requirements was a significant and exciting challenge that the entire team met with flying colors. »

The most attentive will have fun noting the old Audi cars present in the video: the Audi 90 IMSA GTO (1989), the Audi 200 Trans Am (1988), the Audi Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak (1987), the Audi quattro Group B A2 (1984) as well as the Audi R8 LMP and the Audi R18 e- tron quattro LM P1. Even Tom Kristensen, the nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, makes a cameo!
