For its 37th edition, the Baja Aragon (Spain) attracted big calibers. In fact, all the fine flower of rally-raid will be present on July 23 and 24 near Teruel, starting with Nasser Al-Attiyah and Mathieu Baumel (Toyota), packages at the Silk Way, but which intend to keep their reference place acquired a little further south of the country, in Andalusia last May.

The Qatari and his French co-driver will not be alone in the tent of the Belgian team Overdrive because Yazeed Al-Rajhi and Erik Van Loon have announced their presence. Absent from any competition since their tumultuous Dakar in January, the men and women of Bahrain Raid Xtreme (Prodrive) will finally bring out the Thunder T1s for three crews.

The defending champion Orlando Terranova has indeed rented a 4×4 BRX for the occasion and joins the usual team made up of Nani Roma (five-time winner in Aragon) and Sébastien Loeb, who will be able to make his mark with his new navigator, Fabien Lurquin.

X-Raid isn't quite finished with Mini 4x4s. While the hybrid Audi is in the midst of a development process with the Q Motorsport branch, the German team will place its trust in their new recruit Mattias Ekström, as well as the only female winner of the Paris-Dakar (in 2001), Jutta Kleinschmidt. The latter aims to accumulate kilometers with a view to her races in Extreme E with Cupra ABT, just like Catie Munnings (Andretti Extreme E), entered in T3 with a Can-Am Maverick. Béarnais François Cazalet will be his co-pilot.

Four-time Dakar motorcycle winner, Frenchman Cyril Neveu will make his comeback at the wheel of a Can-Am Maverick T4 buggy. Rather accustomed to MotoGP in the years 1990-2000, Carlos Checa for his part risked being stuck on the slopes near Teruel with the same SSV but in class T3.
