Why change such a prestigious team? In 2022, the team founded by Lewis Hamilton, X44, will argue Extreme E with Sébastien Loeb and Cristina Gutiérrez, as was already the case in 2021.
The nine-time world rally champion (WRC) and the winner of the 2021 Cross-Country Rally World Cup in modified SSV (T3) won the final contested in Great Britain in December and finished the season tied with Rosberg X Racing, only losing the title for a lack of success (3 to 1).

“I am very happy to drive for X44 again in Season 2 of Extreme E, declared the winner of the last Monte-Carlo. Last year was very difficult for us, we had a lot of difficulties with the car and some bad luck too, but we finished top of qualifying at every race and finished the year with a victory, so we are optimistic !
I think the other teams are very strong, but Cristina and I have shown that we know how to win races on some of the toughest terrains in the world, so we will give everything to get more podiums. Our fans have been very supportive since our first race, so I hope we can repay them with a Championship victory in 2022.”
Her Spanish teammate, third in the 2021 Dakar in T3, is only aiming for one thing, the title. “We came very close to winning the championship last year and now we are even more motivated in 2022. Since joining the team, I have learned so much and I feel stronger and faster with each race, so I'm excited to get back in the same car and show what I can do. »
