The actor and gentleman driver Jean-Louis Trintignant died at the age of 91 this Friday June 17, 2022 in Uzès (Gard). The nephew of the winner of the Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 1955, Maurice Trintignant, led his career in cinema while cultivating his other passion, that of automobiles.

Avec adresse, Jean-Louis Trintignant immobilisa la Porsche qu’il partageait avec Xavier Lapeyre et Anne-Charlotte Verney en bordure de circuit.
His greatest reward behind the wheel came two years later during the 24 Hours of Spa. With former F1 driver Jean-Pierre Jarier and Belgian Thierry Tassin, he finished in second place aboard a BMW 528.
Film buffs inevitably remember his role in Claude Lelouch's masterpiece “A Man and a Woman”, where he plays the role of a car racer whose wife committed suicide, before meeting him in Deauville. of a script-girl inconsolable since the death of her husband. Several scenes featuring him behind the wheel of white Ford GT40s or Ford Mustangs were shown on the big screen:
