The first list of entries for the 2023 Le Mans Classic

This first list of entries for the 2023 Le Mans Classic concerns grids 1 to 6. Remember that this edition, which will take place from June 29 to July 2, will be exceptional because it will celebrate the centenary of the greatest endurance race in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The models selected in these 6 fields are those which took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1923 and 1981. The selection committee naturally gives absolute priority to the cars which themselves ran the event.

LIST OF ENTRIES LE MANS CLASSIC 2023

In addition to some of the most beautiful cars of all time, which make this meeting an open-air automobile museum, big names are expected on the track:

  • Emmanuel Pirro (Italian) has won the Mancelle event 5 times and has accumulated 13 participations. 
  • Jenson Button (English), world champion of Formula 1 in 2009, also participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018.
  • Jan Magnussen (Danish) has 22 participations at Le Mans and has competed in 25 Formula 1 Grand Prix.
  • Darren turner (English) won the 24 Hours, in the GT1 category in 2007 and 2008. He has 17 participations at Le Mans.  
  • Brian redman (English) has participated in the 12 Hours of Le Mans 24 times and has the 24 Hours of Daytona (3 victories) and the 12 Hours of Sebring (2 victories) under his belt.
  • Vanina Ickx (Belgian) is the daughter of Jacky Ickx alias “Monsieur Le Mans”. Vanina has 7 participations at Le Mans.

“Centenary” edition obliges, registration requests have flocked to peter car and out of more than 600 applications received, only 275 cars have already been selected. In order to complete this provisional list, two other selection committees will be held at the end of January and the end of February. Following their holding, 750 cars will participate in this 2023 edition. Lines 1 to 6 will bring together a total of 450 cars. This figure will be supplemented by that of the cars from the support races (300): Endurance Racing Legends, Group C Racing, Porsche Classic Race Le Mans et The Benjafield’s Le Mans Centenary Race.
