24 Hours of Le Mans – Entry list revealed, Porsche in force

This is the main information in this first list of entrants. 24 Hours of Le Mans 2023: Porsche will present itself in force on the starting grid of the Centenary of the Sarthe classic. The German manufacturer will field four 963s, including three official ones. In addition to numbers 5 and 6 registered for the season in WEC, the Stuttgart firm will also repatriate a prototype used in IMSA. This third car will be numbered 75 and will be driven by Felipe Nasr. The fourth Porsche will be that of Hertz Team JOTA, while the other customer team, Proton Competition, will skip this year by focusing on LMGTE Am (4 cars entered by the German team in this class). As a reminder, Porsche has not yet delivered the LMDh to its customers, these being expected at the end of April.

Still in the Hypercar category, there will be three Cadillacs at the start. In addition to the No. 2, that of Action Express Racing will carry the No. 311 (the 31 having already been taken by Team WRT). The third will indeed be that of Sébastien Bourdais, in n°3. The second Glickenhaus entry is confirmed with Frenchman Franck Mailleux.

24 cars are confirmed in LM P2. Tower Motorsports, Nielsen Racing, Duqueine Team, COOL Racing (two crews), Graff Racing, DKR Engineering, Algarve Pro Racing, IDEC Sport, Panis Racing, AF Corse and Racing Team Turkey are added to the 11 cars entered for the full season of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Inter Europol Competition will also field a second Oreca. Eight cars will make up the LM P2 Pro-Am.

As for LMGTE Am, three Proton Competitions, including one with Michael Fassbender, will be added to those entered in the WEC. As expected, the GT3 category champion team in the Michelin Le Mans Cup on a Honda NSX, GMB Motorsport, will switch to a Aston Martin Vantage AMR to honor its invitation to the Sarthoise classic. The 62^e and the last car entered is the famous Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 n°24 from Hendrick Motorsports, alone in the innovative car category, with Jimmie Johson, Mike Rockenfeller and the world champion of F1 2009, Jenson Button.
