24H. Le Mans – Antonio Fuoco ready for his GTE Pro debut with Ferrari

Once seen as an Italian hope of the car, Antonio Fuoco has since 2021 branched off towardsEndurance. The 26-year-old driver, with a victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring in winter 2022 with Cetilar Racing, obtained his official driver stripes Ferrari in GTE Pro during the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The one who is also a development driver for Scuderia Ferrari in Formula 1 approaches this weekend in Sarthe as “something special”. “I raced Le Mans last year, but unfortunately we had to abandon (accident on Sunday morning in GTE Am. Editor’s note). I hope this will be the first time I get to see the checkered flag!
Antonio Fuoco is associated with Davide Rigon and Miguel Molina, drivers with more experience handling the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo. “Driving for a brand like Ferrari always brings pressure, but I think it’s an inherent part of our job. The native of Cariati (Calabria) also sees beyond the double clock tower at Le Mans, since he tested an Oreca 07 LM P2 at Vallelunga with the AF Corse structure. Could this be an early evaluation for an engagement with the Ferrari Hypercar on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023?
“The Hypercar project is something very important for Ferrari and very pleasant for the drivers. I'm looking forward to seeing the prototype, even if my priority is the current Grand Touring season.
