With 100 days to go before the start, who will be at the 24 2024 Hours of Le Mans?

The big party is coming! There are in fact only 100 days difference between this Thursday March 7 and next June 15, the day on which the departure of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024. A 92^e edition highly anticipated by spectators because it marks the return of real competition on the roads of Sarthe, continuing what was started in 2023.

The entry list published last month is the perfect illustration of this. Between the Test Day on Sunday June 9 and the start days later (Saturday 15), a total of 62 cars are expected, divided into three categories: Hypercar, LMP2 and LMGT3.

Hypercars refuel for the 24 Hours of Le Mans

The division that attracts all eyes is none other than Hypercar. After the returns of Ferrari, Cadillac, Porsche and Porsche last year, who came to face Toyota, the ACO and the WEC will be able to count on new manufacturers this year. BMW, Lamborghini, Alpine and Isotta Fraschini, in addition to numerous customer teams such as Hertz Team JOTA, AF Corse, Proton Competition and Whelen Engineering.

A total of 23 Hypercars will compete for overall victory in the 92^e edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans next June.

A little nod to the LMP2, the LMGT3 makes its debut

As for the lower divisions, the LMP2s will make their comeback on the world stage.Endurance they who no longer compete in the world championship. If 15 places were initially guaranteed for the category, ultimately 16 prototypes – all Oreca 07s – appeared among the entrants for the Le Mans classic.

Among the latter, three French teams include IDEC Sport, Duqueine Team and Panis Racing. The reigning champions Inter Europol Competition will also be there.

For their premiere, the LMGT3s, which succeed the LMGTEs, will number 23 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year. Nine manufacturers are expected: Aston Martin, BMW, Ford, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Lexus, Corvette and Porsche.
