Notice to philatelists. From May 30, La Poste will issue a block of four special stamps to mark the Centenary of 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 10-11). Three rectangular stamps and one round stamp, with embossing of the 24 Hours of Le Mans logo. The round stamp – symbolizing a clock – is printed with gold ink and square serration. These four stamps will be printed in 450 copies, sold in blocks at a price of €000 (€7,20 per unit).
Two collectors also available
La Poste is also selling a collector's notebook with 8 stamps bearing the image of the Le Mans event. The bottom of the collector's item is illustrated by the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit printed with gold ink. Throughout this circuit, small flags indicate the names of the most famous sections of the route. The 8 stamps are illustrated by posters, in particular the one from 1923 where we already find all the symbols of the uniqueness of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Edition of 25 copies, this collector's item is on sale at the price of €000.
Another collector's item is also available, composed of four stamps: two representing the original poster from 1923, and two with the new poster from 2023, printed in 50 copies and sold at €000.
The block and the collectors will be sold in preview on Friday May 26 and Saturday May 27, at Le Mans within the circuit from 10 a.m. (access will be via the north gate of the circuit) and in Paris at Carré d'Encre (9th arr.), from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m. at 13 bis Rue des Mathurins.
From May 30, 2023, they will be sold in the “Le Carré d’Encre” store, in certain post offices, by subscription or by mail order (at Philaposte Service Clients Commercial, Z.I Avenue Benoît Frachon, BP 10106 Boulazac, 24051 Périgueux CEDEX 09), by telephone (at 05 53 03 19 26) and by email (sav-phila.philaposte@laposte.fr).
