H16 – Misfortunes for the #7 Toyota and the #92 Porsche

In quick succession, the #92 Porsche (due to a puncture) and the #7 Toyota (electrical problem) lost the lead in their category at Le Mans. It is now the No. 8 Toyota that leads the race.

La 16e heure de course a été très mouvementée, après une nuit plutôt tranquille au Mans. En Hypercar, alors que Toyota menait avec aisance et sans aucun problème, la n°7 s’est soudainement arrêtée après le virage à Arnage. José Maria Lopez a été immobilisé pendant près d’une minute avant de repartir vers ses stands. Après un long arrêt, la voiture japonaise est repartie, mais à plus d’un tour de la voiture soeur. C’est donc la Toyota n°8 qui mène la danse. Derrière, la Glickenhaus n°709 est toujours 3e, à 3 tours de la 2e place.

Quelques minutes auparavant, c’était la Porsche n°92, alors leader de la catégorie GTE-Pro, who suffered a puncture at high speed before Indianapolis. After making a mistake at Mulsanne, Michael Christensen lost his right front tire and his bumper. The #92 returned to the pits for repairs and fell to 6th place in the category. The No. 64 Corvette regained the lead.

In LM P2, however, nothing to report for the #38 Jota, still comfortably in the lead ahead of the #9 Prema. IN GTE-Am, it is now the No. 99 Hardpoint in the lead ahead of theAston Martin from TF Sport n°33. The #79 WeatherTech had a small mishap with a spin.
