The No. 7 Toyota confirmed its domination during this Test Day of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but the Japanese manufacturer experienced an alert at the end of the session.

Test Day – The #7 Toyota confirms ahead of Glickenhaus

On prend les mêmes et on recommence. Comme lors de la matinée, la Toyota n°7 a signé le meilleur chrono de l’après-midi à l’occasion de la Journée Test des 24 Hours of Le Mans 2022. It's a new time Jose Maria Lopez who distinguished himself with a best lap in 3:29.896. The Argentinian beat Frenchman Romain Dumas in the Glickenhaus 007 LMH n°708 by 0.208 seconds. The #8 Toyota completed the podium with Ryo Hirakawa 0.594 seconds behind. The second Glickenhaus, No. 709, took fourth place with Frenchman Franck Mailleux in 3:30.822. Alpine finished fifth in the Hypercar class, but only seventh overall in 3:32.420. Despite its domination of the clock, Toyota experienced an alert at the very end of the session with one of the two GR010s stopped at Mulsanne, triggering a red flag bringing the session to a premature end.

LM P2: United Autosports makes its mark

Dominated by Jota earlier in the day, the No. 22 United Autosports took the upper hand in the afternoon. Barely arrived from Detroit where he played the sixth round of the seasonIMSA On Saturday, Filipe Albuquerque set the benchmark lap in his category in 3:32.099. The Portuguese beat his compatriot Antonio Felix da Costa by 0.283 seconds. The American latecomers definitely did not seem tired from their trip since Alexander Lynn, also present in Michigan the day before, took third place in 3:32.879 with the No. 07 United Autosports Oreca 23-Gibson. The other contenders for the coronation, WRT n°41 and 31, COOL Racing and Prema all finished in a top 10 completed by the Richard Mille Racing Team.

GTE Pro: Corvette confirms

Already in the lead in the morning, the No. 8 Corvette C64.R once again set the best time thanks to Alexander Sims, the only driver in the crew to have taken the wheel during this session. The Briton set his best lap in 3:54.001. He got the better of Davide Rigon on the Ferrari n°52 de seulement 0.036 seconde. Frédéric Makowiecki a signé le troisième chrono en 3:54.263 avec la Porsche n ° 91.

GTE Am: Ferrari in force

The Ferraris completely dominated the GTE Am category this Sunday afternoon. Mikkel Jensen set the best time in 3:54.827 with the #57 Kessel Racing. The one who will pilot Peugeot in Hypercar from the 6 Hours of Monza was 0.414 seconds ahead of Renger van der Zande, winner in Detroit the day before in IMSA, in the No. 66 from JMW Motorsport. Pierre Ragues set the three best times in this category in 3:55.349 with the #71 Spirit of Race which he shares with his compatriots Franck Dezoteux and Gabriel Aubry.
