Philippe Sinault: “A real pride and achievement to represent Alpine »

At the head of the Signatech structure representing Alpine since his return to Endurance in 2013, Philippe Sinault is preparing to return to the premier category in Hypercar alongside the brand with the A arrow. Before their new departure next year, however, its teams will have an intense program between their current commitments in LM P2 and the development tests of the A424.

Ten years after the return ofAlpine in competition, is this the start of a new era?

In 2013, we were able to convince Alpine to return to racing and we were certain that such a brand is only in its place in the premier category. Alpine never denies herself the dreams she aspires to, just like us at Signatech. We didn't imagine what would happen next, but we strongly hoped for it and this ambition is about to materialize. Our ten-year adventure has been punctuated by European and world titles on several playing fields. More than ever, it is a real pride and achievement to represent Alpine, both at the top of Endurance, and in our other collaborations with the A110 Cup, A110 GT4, A110 Rally, and soon A110 Pikes Peak. This has created a virtuous dynamic around our projects and bodes fantastic prospects for the future.

How is Signatech preparing for its important role in development?

Before starting this new chapter, our mission was to understand our transition season in LM P2 while planning our future in Hypercar. From this year, we have changed dimension due to the extremely busy schedule that awaits us between our competition commitments and the development of the A424 with the teams ofAlpine Racing starting this summer. We have recruited many talents from different backgrounds and we will be lucky to have the support of Viruses-Châtillon with the valuable experience of Bruno Famin, Christophe Chapelain and François Champod, to name but a few.

Will combining competition and development be a significant challenge?

We are above all “racers” and it was unthinkable for us to imagine the festivities for the centenary of 24 Hours of Le Mans without Alpine. We absolutely wanted to be involved in competition, because racing is in our genes. It is also the best way to prepare ourselves. Our teams will therefore be present on both fronts, but in an intelligent manner, taking turns to operate on the development car. A huge amount of in-depth work, anticipation and commitment from everyone has already been done for almost a year. The support ofAlpine Racing and Oreca will be invaluable in being the best armed and ensuring that this magnificent prototype can anchor ever more Alpine in the firmament of French and international motorsport.
