Sophia Floersch: “It’s very difficult to accept”

Sophia, what happened at the start of the race?

Everything was going well until the last turn. We had a sensor failure in the gearbox, I couldn't do anything more than return to the pits at low speed, it took me ten minutes and we lost six laps. It's not the best way to start a 24-hour race... It's motorsport, but it's very difficult to accept, especially on the first lap. I prefer to make a mistake, because then I know what I can do best. It was just out of my control.

After the 2021 accident, you seem unlucky at Le Mans…

It was hard to digest last year, and it's still the case this year. We had a package to win or to aim for the podium, we lost everything with these many laps behind.

Is the goal just to finish the race now?

We will try to finish, it is always important. Maybe we will have a little luck to come back, but we are not one lap behind, but six. We will try.
