The American manufacturer's prototype will also participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with an entry in WEC for the entire season starting next year. Co-developed by Cadillac Design, Cadillac Racing and Dallara, this Hypercar incorporates the brand's key design features. Like the vertical lighting, elements of the firm's heritage are present and link the GTP Hypercar project to the future of Cadillac.

“The Hypercar Project GTP is a unique convergence of form and function and showcases Cadillac's future performance aesthetic, said Chris Mikalauskas, lead creative exterior designer at Cadillac. We have plenty more to come, from the next race car to amazing production vehicles. »

“Competing for overall victory at Le Mans with an iconic American brand like Cadillac is an honor, said Laura Wontrop Klauser, head of General Motors' sports car racing program. The entire team is excited to continue building Cadillac's competitive heritage by competing against the best internationally and in the toughest race in the world. »

The car will be powered by an all-new 8-liter V5,5 which will be coupled to a common hybrid system and meeting LMDh regulations. It will be on track after the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the next six months will be devoted to intensive testing.

“It’s fantastic to come back to Le Mans. Participating in IMSA and WEC will be quite a challenge. “It will be another opportunity to show what Cadillac can do.”, rejoiced Rory Harvey, vice-president of the Detroit (Michigan) firm.
