It becomes a habit. After Spa-Francorchamps, Charles Milesi once again took pole position at the 4 Hours of Portimão. The Frenchman put COOL Racing's Oreca 07 – Gibson into first place ahead of Algarve Pro Racing and G-Drive Racing, setting a 1:30.812. Ferdinand Habsburg took second place at 0.177 and Nyck de Vries completed the qualifying podium at 0.293.

For the first time in four races, Laurents Hörr did not set the best time in LM P3. The German had to settle for third place with his Duqueine M30 – D08 – Nissan number 4 from DKR Engineering with a 1:36.488, 0.116 behind the Ligier JS p320 – Nissan number 2 from United Autosports propelled into the lead in its category by a 1:36.372 signed Wayne Boyd. The number 320 Inter Europol Competition Ligier JS p13 – Nissan took second place with a 1:36.431 posted on the clock and set by Ugo de Wilde.

In LMGTE, Ross Gunn set the best time with theAston Martin Vantage AMR numéro 95 de TF Sport en 1:39.209. Le Britannique a devancé Gianmaria Bruni sur la Porsche RSR 911 – 19 numéro 77 de Proton Competition à 0,480 et Alessia Rovera sur la Ferrari number 89 of AF Corse at 0.542.7
