4H of Spa – Qualifying: Yifei Ye places COOL Racing in pole position

Yifei Ye was the fastest in qualifying this Saturday afternoon at Spa. The Chinese driver took the better in his duel with Patrick Pilet (IDEC Sport) by 0.307 seconds, taking the pole position lap in 2:03.544. Nicolas Jamin took third place 0.628 seconds behind for Panis Racing. A good operation for the French team before the race, since Prema will only start in eighth position this Sunday. The session was interrupted by a red flag following an exit from the track by Fabio Scherer at the wheel of the No. 43 Inter Europol Competition. 

Uncompromising in the flying lap exercise this season, Malthe Jakobsen took her fifth pole position in as many rounds in LM P3. The young Dane from COOL Racing completed his best lap in 2:11.062, ahead of Kay van Berlo (United Autosports no. 3) by 0.860 seconds and Nico Pino (Inter Europol Competition no. 13) by 1.171 seconds, for a Ligier hat-trick.

In GTE Pro, Conrad Grunewald dominated the category from start to finish during this session. The American Kessel Racing driver beat Ahmad al Harthy (Aston Martin AMR n°69 of Oman Racing with TF Sport) by 1.111 seconds and Diego Alessi (Ferrari 488 GTE Evo n°32 from Rinaldi Racing) by 1.223 seconds.
