4H du Castellet – EL2: COOL Racing ahead of Racing Team Turkey

Dominant during the Prologue, the COOL Racing team (Nicolas lapierre, Yifei Ye, Niklas Kruetten) set a new best time during the second and final Free Practice session for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet, first round of the 2022 European season Le Mans Series, in 1:43.634. The Swiss team beat Racing Team Turkey (Salih Yoluc, Charlie Eastwood, Jack Aitken), first Pro-Am team, by only 0.017 of a second and Prema (Lorenzo Colombo, Louis Delétraz, Ferdinand Habsburg) by 0.022. Fourth, the Algarve Pro Racing n°19 of Sophia Floerch and Bent Viscaal was 0.096 behind. Minimal differences which confirm that the qualifications, scheduled from 13:50 p.m. this Saturday, will be decided on the smallest details.

COOL Racing also dominated the LM P3 category with the #17 (Maurice Smith, Michael Benham, Malthe Jakoben) in 1:50.400 ahead of the #15 from RLR MSport (Horst Felbermayr Jr, Valentino Catalano, Austin McCusker) and the 360 Racing n°6 (Terrence Woodward, Ross Kaiser, Mark Richards). On the LMGTE side, it is the Porsche n°77 of Proton Competition (Christian Ried, Lorenzo Ferrari, Gianmaria Bruni) who dominated the proceedings in 1:55.905, ahead of the #57 Kessel Racing Ferrari (Takeshi Kimura, Frederik Schandorff, Mikkel Jensen) and a second Porsche, the #18 Absolute Racing (Andrew Haryanto, Martin Rump, Alessio Picarello).
