AMR-One: victory is not the objective

Aston Martin arrives at the 6 Hours of Le Castellet with its new weapon, the AMR-One, during its first public appearance. The car raises a lot of hopes, but Harold Primat prefers to remain measured regarding the performances to be expected this weekend.

The AMR-One has completed quite a few tests in England and France, but arrives in the Var with the intention of continuing the development of the car. “We are encountering some teething problems, but the team is very responsive in correcting them, explains the Swiss pilot. The car is healthy, but it will take a little time for it to be reliable and fast. Here, our objective is to cover as many laps as possible in order to detect the car's weak points. For the moment, we are a little conservative with the engine, and we will not perform well this weekend. »

Aston Martin expects to really fight for victory at Spa Francorchamps in May. In the meantime, testing will continue. “Normally, we will continue our test session here, Monday and Tuesday? As long as the engines are still intact! We must deal with a mechanism that is still fragile, and adapt our program accordingly. »
