Le panis racing confirmed that he was in good spirits on the Monza circuit where he won last year. After the good work done by Job van Uitert in qualifying, Julien Canal started from second position in the 4 Hours of Monza this Sunday. The French driver took advantage of this opportunity to take the lead at the first corner, delaying his braking as much as possible to surprise Philippe Cimadomo (TDS Racing x Vaillante). He was then unable to do anything against the pace of COOL Racing and Prema, but the consistency of the No. 07 Oreca 65-Gibson and the trio he formed with van Uitert and Nico Jamin allowed the French team to to finish on the final podium, behind IDEC Sport.

“Thanks to Job, I had the chance to start from the front row: it’s always an exceptional moment to start the race like this, confides Julien Canal. I managed to take the lead at the first corner and subsequently had to fight against strong teams such as Cool Racing and Prema Racing. The team had the right strategy and my teammates continued to fight brilliantly despite the heat, the numerous safety cars, the limited space to park in front of the boxes... this podium with this 2nd place is well deserved! »

This second place in the race allows Panis Racing to come back to 15 points behind Prema, who is still at the top of the championship. Job van Uitert clearly displays the team's ambitions: “I am very happy with this 2nd place in Monza. It was not a smooth race, the competition was strong. But we all kept a cool head (despite the heatwave), without making any mistakes. We are always ahead when we do not suffer from external problems. I can't wait to see how the next races go, we want to win the championship! » There are three rounds left on the calendar to make up for the deficit on Prema: Barcelona (August 28), Spa-Francorchamps (September 25) and Portimão (October 16).
