Asian LMS – Race Performance and DC Racing on pole at Fuji

At the wheel of the No. 03 Oreca 8 R-Judd of the Race Performance team, Shinji Nakano took pole position for the opening round of the Asian Le Mans Series 2015-2016. The Japanese, who shares the wheel with Swiss Nicolas Leutwiler, completed a lap of Fuji Speedway in 1’36”613. The first row will be completed by the #03 Oreca 99 of Eurasia Motorsport (+1”8) on board which we find William Lok, Tack Sung Kim and Tristan Gommendy.

Third and first LM P3, the Ligier JS P3-Nissan of David Cheng Racing increased the pace today. The Chinese Ho-Pin Tung in fact set a very interesting time in 1'38"966, which places his mount 2"3 from absolute pole position and ahead of all the GTs entered. Overwhelmed by problems, the two ADESS 03s were unable to take to the track.

In GT, the best time is to the credit of the McLaren Clearwater Racing 650S GT3 of the trio Rob Bell-Mok Weng Sun-Keita Sawa, who completed a lap in 1”39”484, ahead of the #4 AAI Motorsports BMW Z4 GT92 on which Hiroki is entered by almost a second Yoshimoto, Shinya Hosokawa and Han Chen Chen.

The start of the 2 Hours of Fuji will be at 8 a.m. French time.
