Chatin: “Our opponents look at Idec Sport in a different way”

After a slump last year where he was only able to do a few stints at Idec Sport Racing, Paul-Loup Chatin was able to take advantage of a full program this year while continuing to defend the interests of the Lafargue family.

Alongside Memo Rojas and Paul Lafargue, Paul-Loup Chatin has already been able to reach the podium twice, at Monza (Italy) and Silverstone (Great Britain). The crew of the Oreca 07 with its red livery especially shone at the 24 Hours of Le Mans even if the breakage of the gearbox housing destroyed the hopes of the French team.

“We are one of the few trios who did not make a single mistake from the Test Day to our retirement. Not a spin, not a straight-on, not a touch. We were having a blast”, remembered Paul-Loup Chatin in AUTOhebdo.

“We didn't even need to attack too much to play in front. So giving up 3 hours from the goal is really frustrating. We were back 16" fromAlpine, and everything was playable. But we took pole position and confirmed our good start to the season. Since then, our opponents have looked at IDEC Sport in a different way. A form of respect has been established…”
