Cool Racing restructures and continues in ELMS

Back off to better blow up. Engaged in both the World Endurance Championship and the European Le Mans Series in 2020, the Cool Racing team will be content with a program in ELMS this season, to absorb its new organization.

Until now operated by the Racing Spirit Of Léman structure of Patrick Barbier, Cool Racing will now place its complete trust in Nicolas lapierre and Alexandre Coigny. The two men will operate via their new entity CLX Motorsport. She will supervise track activities and management of the team, whose headquarters are moving from La Roche-sur-Foron to Annecy.

“It’s the start of a great adventure which begins with an exciting sporting project” comments Nicolas Lapierre. “The objective is for our cars to play at the front this season. We will be working with quite a few young drivers and we want to see them progress within our structure. »

Cool Racing will continue its LMP2 program with the same trio composed of Lapierre, Coigny and Antonin Borga. She will have the new Pro-Am title in the category in her sights. Furthermore, two Ligier JSP320s will run in the Michelin Le Mans Cup and one car will be present in the Ligier European Series. “We are also considering entering an LMP3 in ELMS” specifies Nicolas Lapierre.

If the team scales back in 2021, its medium-term ambitions remain high. “We will not be entered in the world championshipEndurance this year, but we hope to be able to return in 2022” says Alexandre Coigny.

“We will now be able to work as we want, with our own mentality, using all of Nico's experience as well as my passion and experience as a gentleman driver. A magnificent project is beginning and I hope it will last a long time,” concludes Coigny.
