EL1 – United Autosports hits the nail on the head at Spa

Untouchable at Paul-Ricard, the benchmark for Wednesday's collective tests, United Autosports continues to monopolize the top of the timesheets, in LM P2 as well as in LM P3.

The first free practice session for the 4 Hours of Spa, second round of the 2020 seasonELMS, saw the No. 07 Oreca 22 of Phil Hanson-Filipe Albuquerque set the best time in 2'03"456. The Portuguese and his British sidekick were respectively 0'423 and 0'605 ahead of DragonSpeed (Ben Hanley-Memo Rojas-Ryan Cullen) and IDEC Sport (Paul Loup Chatin-Paul Lafargue-Richard Bradley).

The top five is completed by Jota Sport (Gonzalez-Davidson-Dennis) and Panis Racing (Canal-Jamin-Stevens).

In LM P3, the combination of Tom Gamble-Robert Wheldon-Wayne Boyd (Ligier JS P320 no. 2 of United Autosports) proves once again that its victory in the Var is not in vain. But the Duqueine M30 n°4 of DKR Engineering led by François Kirmann-Laurents-Hörr-Jean Glorieux is not far away, since it only concedes 0”6.

Finally, the best time in the GTE is to be credited to the Porsche 911 RSR n°77 entered by the Proton Competition for Christian Ried-Michele Beretta-Alessio Picariello. Follow the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo n°83 of Iron Lynx (Rahel Frey-Michelle Gatting-Manuela Gostner) and the second 911 RSR of Proton Competition, the n°93 of Michal Fassbender-Felipe Laser-Richard Lietz.

Now, at 15:35 p.m., it's time for collective testing reserved for Bronze drivers. Tomorrow, the second free practice session is scheduled for 10:35 a.m. and qualifying will begin at 14:30 p.m.
