ELMS – Alpine extend the fun with the Patrouille de France

The official tests of theELMS contested on April 1 and 2 at Paul Ricard were not a cakewalk. The first day of testing was disrupted by an accident which occurred with a GTC, forcing the team to carry out long repairs on the A450 which will have to defend its title acquired last year with Pierre Ragues and Nelson Panciatici . “Indeed, theAlpine A450 rammed by a GTC competitor in distress, hit the wall at Signes, immobilizing the car until the night session. Summary: Rear block, spacer and box. The work of the mechanics was fabulous and we resumed testing at 19 p.m. explains Philippe Sinault, the boss of Signatech. “The initial program of these tests was essentially based on endurance tests and the discovery of the 2014 tires. We still have a lot of work to do before the first race at Silverstone, and above all analyze the data stored over these two days tests. Still, at the end of the two days we achieved the fourth absolute fastest time. »

Signatech-Alpine took advantage of the trip to meet the Patrouille de France last Thursday. The French team was thus able to carry out a photo shoot with the reigning aerobatic world champion, Captain François Le Vot and his Extra 330C plane. ?It?s a huge honor and a source of great pride for the team and especially for me! My brother was a fighter pilot on the show base... I hope that this is a first meeting and that there will be a sequel, because the Patrouille de France, which celebrated its 60th anniversary and Alpine its 50th anniversary in 2013 are two French nuggets which represent French heritage and mechanical excellence. This meeting with the Patrouille de France will be unforgettable for us! We sincerely thank them for their welcome and the time spent with our pilots. Furthermore, being in Castellet for the tests at the start of the year, we had to make a stop at the Salon air base. »
