Dragonspeed confirmed its good performance in testing by monopolizing the first row of the grid for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet (Var) with its two Oreca 07s. Nicolas lapierre signed a new pole by setting a time of 1'52''761 in the No. 21, while Léo Roussel finished just over a tenth behind in the No. 22 in the colors of G-Drive Racing in the lead of the Championship.
The top three is completed by the No. 07 Oreca 39 from Graff Racing with Enzo Guibbert who finished just under 3 tenths off the benchmark.
The Ligier JS P217s seem to be in difficulty on the fast Paul-Ricard track. Filipe Albuquerque was only able to set the 5th fastest time with the No. 32 from United Autosports which was 7 tenths from pole, finishing behind the Dallara P217 of Matevos Isaakyan.
In LMP3, pole went to Ross Kaiser with a lap time of 2'02''196 at the wheel of the 3 Racing Ligier JS P360. The Briton finished ahead of the No. 15 RLR MSport of Alex Kapadia and the No. 18 M. Racing – YMR of Alexandre Cougnaud. Yann Ehrlacher placed the first Norma M30, that of Yvan Muller's team, in 4th place in the category. Sean Rayhall took the #2 United Autosports Ligier to the top of the Championship in 5th position. The sister car #3 is only 13th in LMP3 after a spin by Wayne Boyd.
Matt Griffin took pole in GTE by setting a time of 2'04''202 on the Ferrari 488 GTE n°55 from Spirit of Race. The Irishman was more than 3 tenths ahead of Porsche 911 RSR from Proton Competition driven by Matteo Cairoli. The #51 Spirit of Race Ferrari and the #66 JMW Motorsport driven by Andrea Bertolini and Jonathan Cocker respectively complete the second row in the category.
The Aston Martin Vantage #90 of TF Sport with Nicki Thiim and #99 of TF Sport of Beechdean AMR of Darren Turner are the furthest behind even if the peloton is grouped in less than a second.
