ELMS – Jan Charouz with Sébastien Loeb Racing

After having experienced a complicated season in WEC at the wheel of the Lotus T128, Jan Charouz returns in ELMS by joining the Sébastien Loeb Racing present at all five rounds with an Oreca 03-Nissan in which Vincent Capillaire is already entered. If the experience of the Czech is an undeniable asset for the Alsatian team, the 2009 champion of the Le Mans Series will not be aligned in the 24 Hours of Le Mans since the crew is already formed with its French teammate who will be associated with René Rast and Laurens Vanthoor. The German will be present alongside the two drivers confirmed for the season at the official tests which will begin tomorrow at Le Castellet while a third driver has yet to be confirmed.

“After a complicated year, I expect much better in 2014”, assures Jan Charouz who was Lotus test and reserve driver Renault for two seasons. “I have already driven the Oreca 03, which is probably the best LMP2 available at the moment. The team is also high quality and very motivated. With this package we will fight to achieve good results. Winning is always the objective even if we know that the competition will be very strong in LMP2. So far, the tests have gone well. The car behaves well and my understanding with Vincent Capillaire is good. The feelings are positive, especially since I already know a few people within the team, such as Sébastien Loeb, Léo Thomas (the technical director) and Franck Tiné (the sports director). »
