ELMS – JMW Motorsport enters Bertolini and Camathias

Andrea Bertolini will continue his career in endurance by joining JMW Motorsport which will begin its season in ELMS starting this weekend at Silverstone. The 39-year-old Italian has a fine track record in GT behind him since he won three GT1 crowns (2006, 2008 and 2009) and a GT1 world title in 2010. After winning the Superstars International Series in 2011, the Latin driver joined the AF Corse team with which he took second place in the GT3 Pro-Am Cup category in Blancpain Endurance Series and a victory in WEC. Andrea Bertolini will remain at the wheel of the F458 this year by joining the ELMS field. “The team’s results have been excellent in the past and we must continue this story. We have a good chance this season and we have to stay focused because it will be a tight Championship. »

The Italian will be accompanied on the No. 458 F66 by Joël Camathias, also a newcomer to the discipline. The Swiss won the title in 2009 in the International GT Open on a Ferrari F430 fielded by Trottet Racing and also competed in the WEC last year by competing in the GTE-Am category on the Porsche 911 RSR 997 from the JWA-Avila team.

JMW Motorsport won last year in GTE Pro which was replaced by a simple GTE category. With two experienced drivers, the British team intends to play at the forefront. “I am delighted to have a crew with such a high level of quality”, comments Team Manager Tim Sugden. “I have known Andrea for many years. With Joël, we have a fast and reliable driver who is already in symbiosis with our team. »
