ELMS – Jota Sport and Oliver Turvey in their garden

For the return ofAlpine in motorsport, everyone dreams of hearing the Marseillaise resonate tomorrow at the end of the 3 Hours of Silverstone. A dream far from unrealizable. After being at the top of the timesheet for the first free practice session, Nelson Panciatici set the second fastest time in the second this afternoon. Only Olivier Turvey managed to undermine the Habs' domination by completing a lap in 1'51"699. A time 0”482 lower than that of its rival. For its first appearance in Endurance, at the wheel of an LM P2, the Briton does not disappoint. But should we be surprised, the latter being part of the young pilots program of McLaren. As a reminder, Oliver Turvey will team up this year with his compatriot Simon Dolan on the Jota Sport Zytek Z11SN-Nissan.

Apart from Nelson Panciatici on his Alpine A450 on which we also find Pierre Ragues, another pilot from France, has stood out. Freshly confirmed by Morand Racing for the entire European Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Franck Mailleux was the third fastest driver of the day, just 0 behind the reference time. A good omen for the future. And all the more so since the Oreca 557s of Thiriet by TDS Racing (Jonathan Hirschi-Pierre Thiriet) and Murphy Prototypes (Hartley-Patterson) are not far away.

See you tomorrow at 12:10 p.m. French time for qualifying for the 3 Hours of Silverstone, the opening round of the European Le Mans Series.
