With the former goalkeeper of the French team gone, the Panis-Barthez Compétition team, run by Tech 1 Racing, had to reshape the crew of its Ligier JS P217 for the coming season. Still shod by Michelin, who would have made a point of upsetting Dunlop in LM P2, it will be entrusted to two Frenchmen and a Briton.
Timothé Buret leaves for a third campaign in a row with the Toulouse team. He will be supported by Julien Canal – titled last year in WEC in LM P2 with Rebellion Racing – and by Will Stevens. Ex-pilot of F1, the latter won the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2017 in the GTE Am category on the Ferrari 488 GTE from JMW Motorsports. He had already competed in the category two years ago, under the colors of G-Drive Racing, in the World Championship.Endurance.
