ELMS / Le Mans – Tristan Gommendy 3rd driver at Thiriet by TDS Racing

By joining Pierre Thiriet and Ludovic Badey, Tristan Gommendy will try to bring all his experience to the Thiriet by TDS Racing team. In 2013, the Frenchman took the wheel of theAlpine Signatech A450-Alpine. The team hopes to be part of the next 24h of Le Mans (June 14-15), and a request for entry was recently submitted to the ACO selection committee, which will hold its press conference today at 15 p.m. The team should start with a Morgan LM P2 before moving to a Ligier (and the Onroak chassis) once the latter is ready.

“This year, I was looking for a complete program and my first idea was the Thiriet by TDS Racing team because it is one of the best prototype teams at the moment. » explains Gommendy. “ I then called Xavier Combet, the team manager, and the contact was immediately very good. In addition, the Thiriet family has been very positive towards me even though I don't know Pierre (Thiriet) very much. The feeling was therefore very good and a response was quickly given to me.
I didn't choose this team at random, it was my first choice and I must admit that I didn't look at many other solutions. I wanted a team that would allow me to fight at the forefront and with a great sports program. I have been closely following the evolution of the Thiriet by TDS Racing team for quite some time. They narrowly missed the title last year and deserve their prizes because they are doing an excellent job! I am delighted to be able to join the ranks of the team and I would like to thank Xavier Combet as well as the Thiriet family for the trust they have placed in me. »

The first round of theELMS 2014 will take place on April 18 and 19 at Silverstone. Previously, the teams will have driven at Paul Ricard for the official tests on April 1 and 2.
