ELMS – Sébastien Loeb Racing begins its 2014 campaign.

After a year of absence, Sébastien Loeb Racing will find theELMS this weekend at Silverstone for the opening round of a season where the team of the nine-time world champion will notably field the ORECA 03 in LM P2 for Jan Charouz and Vincent Capillaire. “We have a solid package, with a good car, explains Capillaire. Traffic will surely be one of the keys, we will have to be careful. The first objective is to reach the finish while avoiding pitfalls. »

“We are approaching this first challenge with a lot of humility,” explains Léo Thomas. technical director. We will be part of the teams which run with only two drivers in LM P2: this will offer more driving time to Vincent and Jan, and therefore better knowledge of the car, perhaps also a little more freedom in terms of strategy. On paper, we have assets, we will have to put everything in place quickly to be in the game: we want to finish well placed. This is an important start with the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the viewfinder. »

For its first race in GTC, Le Loeb Racing will put its trust in the Audi R8 LMS ultra entrusted to Henry Hassid, Olivier Lombard and Mike Parisy. “The tests went well, even if the official tests left us a little uncertain about the balance of performance for the first race, says Parisy. I have full confidence in the team and in my teammates: we will attack hard and give our all to achieve a great performance. I like this Silverstone circuit on which I have often been successful. It's a nice track, with sequences of fast curves that could suit the chassis of the Audi R8 LMS ultra. »
