ELMS – Racing Engineering winner of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet

If we knew that Racing Engineering had not come to LM P2 to amuse the gallery, it was legitimate to think that the lack of experience in the discipline could penalize it. But in the end it didn't happen. After taking the lead in the first round, Nicolas lapierre (DragonSpeed) mastered the first two stints of the race, followed by a handful of seconds by Norman Nato (Racing Engineering) who quickly understood the instructions for using the Oreca 07. Unfortunately for the DragonSpeed driver, Henrik Hedman will end its race in the rail a few minutes after having relayed it, following contact with the Ferrari 488 GTE n°55 from Spirit of Race.

At the wheel of the Spanish Oreca, Paul Petit proved that he was on an equal footing with the best so-called "amateur" drivers in the discipline and very quickly showed that on a regular basis, it would be very complicated to go look for n°24. After getting rid of a very lively Pierre Thiriet at the wheel of the No. 470 Apline A36, Olivier Pla finished the job without firing a shot.

On the second step of the podium, we finally find the No. 07 Oreca 33 of TDS Racing, led by a brilliant trio composed of François Perrodo, Loïc duval and Matthieu Vaxivière, who came to prepare the WEC. The other good performance of the day goes to Duqueine Engineering, which is also making its debut in the category. Despite a collision, the No. 29 of Pierre Ragues-Nelson Panciatici-Nico Jamin achieved a very good podium. The top five is completed by G-Drive Racing (Rusinov-Pizzitola-Imperatori) and Signatech Alpine (Thiriet-negrao).

At the finish, we find seven Oreca in the first seven places, eight in the top ten. The first Ligier is the JS P217 n°23 of Panis Barthez Compétition (Buret-Canal-Stevens) which was slowed down by a puncture while playing at the front.

In LM P3 and GTLM, victory respectively went to the #3 RLR Msport Ligier JS P15 entrusted to John Farano-Job van Uitert-Robert Garofall and the #488 Ferrari 66 GTE fielded by JMW Motorsport for Liam Griffin -Alex MacDowall-Miguel Molina, who took the advantage in the last lap over Porsche 911 RSR n°88 registered by Proton Competition and on board of which Gianluca Roda, Giorgio Roda and Matteo Cairoli take turns.

The next round, the 4 Hours of Monza, is scheduled for May 13.
