In the queen category ofELMS, the LM P2, the battle will rage between the two Alpine 450 from Signatech-Alpine led by Nelson Panciatici and Paul-Loup Chatin, the two leading drivers of the reigning champion cars, and the other teams entered. Thiriet by TDS Racing, winner of the series in 2012, will present a Ligier JSP2 Nissan in the hands of Pierre Thiriet and Tristan Gommendy, among others, recently confirmed within the team.
Caterham Racing with the American Chris Dyson, Jota Sport with the Englishman Simon Dolan and Greaves Motorsport led by the Englishman Tom Kimber-Smith will field Zytek Z11SN Nissans. At Morgan, Pegasus Racing with Julien Schell, Larbre Compétition with Jacques Nicolet and Newblood by Morand Racing with the Austrian Christian Klien will try to play the leading roles.
The Sebastian Loeb Racing will be involved in LM P2 with an ORECA-Nissan 03 entrusted to Austrian Andreas Zuber. The team of the nine-time world rally champion will be one of the spearheads of the ORECA-Nissan which will also be entered by Boutsen Ginion Racing with Vincent Capillaire, the Race Performance and the Swiss Michel Frey and the Murphy Prototypes which has yet to announce its lead driver. That's a total of thirteen LM P2s for the 2014 ELMS field.

In LMGTE, Ferrari, Porsche et Aston Martin will be the headliners in 2014. Eight 458 Italias including two for AF Corse (for the Italian Piergiuseppe Perrzzini and the Englishman Duncan Cameron), one for Sofrev-ASP and Fabien Barthez, two for Kessel Racing (for the Polish Michael Broniszewski and Kola Aluko) or one for AT Racing (with Belarusian Alexander Talkanitsa Jr), SMP Racing (Andrea Bertolini) and JMW Motorsport (driver still to be defined) will face four 911 GT3 RSRs. The Team IMSA Performance MATMUT will field the German cars for Raymond Narac and Erik Maris. Gulf Racing will split its crews between a 911 for Michael Wainwright and an Aston Martin for Goethe. François Perrodo will be at the start from SIlverstone with a 911 from the Crucible Sport team.

It is in GTC that the field will be the most extensive. Ferrari will field the most cars on track, but Audi, BMW and even McLaren will want their piece of the pie. The 2013 champions, SMP Racing, in addition to entering a 458 Italia in LMGTE, will field three cars for Fabio Babini, Boris Rotenberg and Stéphane Ortelli. At AF Corse, four Italian cars will be taking part, notably in the hands of Yannick Mallegol, Mads Radsmussen, Per Nielsen and Adrien de Leener. The Sofrev-ASP team will make a 458 available to Christophe Bourret. The Ukraine team (for Andriy Kruglyk and Ruslan Tsyplakov) will not be left with two Ferraris. and the Formula Racing team will be at the start with the Dane Jan Magnussen.

To counter this armada from Maranello, the Audi R8 LMS Ultra of Sébastien Loeb Racing will be the only one to display the rings of the multiple winning brand at Le Mans. Henri Hassid will be at the wheel of the German. The other cars from across the Rhine will be the BMW Z4 GT3 from the Russia by Barwell team for Leo Machitski and the Porsche 911 from the Pro GT by Almeras team with Frank Perera. At McLaren, the MP4-12Cs will be entrusted to ART Grand Prix with Ricardo Gonzalez and Kevin Korjus.

For Gérard Neveu, director of the ELMS, “this list is incredible for the second season of the new ELMS. We are very happy to see that the teams and drivers have found what they expected from a European endurance championship in the ELMS. The events will now take place over four hours and each event will offer a fabulous spectacle with the 42 cars entered on the grid. »
