ELMS – United Autosports confirms Owen and Sadeleer in LM P2

Winner of the LM P3 category in ELMS last year with its Ligier JS P3, United Autosports will continue its commitment to the continental series on the LM P2 and LM P3 tables. The structure confirmed this Thursday the entry of a Ligier JS P217 in LM P2 this season, a car acquired in November.

In addition to the ELMS, participation in 24 Hours of Le Mans will be on the program, via the invitation won with the 3 LM P2016 crowns.

As for the drivers, United Autosport has already formalized the presence of the American William Owen, entered in the Pro Mazda Championship last year and seen at the Bahrain Rookie Tests in WEC, and the Swiss Hugo de Sadeleer, lined up in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 with Tech1 Racing.

“I am very happy that Will and Hugo are joining the United family for our first year in LM P2, rejoices Richard Dean, owner of the stable. The decision to race in LM P2 came quite late at the end of last year.

Once confirmed that we would have an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans after winning the LM P3 championship, we decided to move forward and planned to race in the LM P2 category, in addition to our LM commitments. P3.

It took a lot of work in a short amount of time to bring it all together, but I'm excited for what we have as a program this year. »

A third driver is expected to join this duo, but has not yet been confirmed by United Autosports.
