Like many hopes of the car, Frederik Vesti decided to take the turn ofEndurance. The vice-champion of Formula 2 rear Theo Pourchaire will run like this in European Le Mans Series this season. The almost 22-year-old Dane (he will be on Saturday January 13) was announced by the Swiss team COOL Racing to move into the No. 47 Oreca. He will be associated with an LM P2 reference, Ferdinand Habsburg. The Austrian will be associated with a driver with whom he already competes in the Asian Le Mans Series with Nielsen Racing, Alex Garcia. The 20-year-old Mexican knows the team led by Nicolas lapierre since he won the LM P3 category with it in 2023 alongside Marcos Siebert and Adrien Chila.

« We are delighted and proud to have confirmed such talented crews for the 2024 season, rejoices Nicolas Lapierre, pilot Alpine en WEC and co-founder of the team. The backbone of the team is identical, with youth and obvious sporting potential. It is important for us to stay with Alex, who continues his development with us and he will be able to count on Ferdi’s experience. Frederik fits well into our philosophy and we can be ambitious in our goals. Now, all of this must translate onto the track in an increasingly competitive category. We have strengthened our technical organization in recent seasons and we hope to capitalize on the experience gained. The 2024 season, with two LMP2 Pros and one LMP3, is important for the team. »

Frederik Vesti should at the same time occupy a role of reservist at Mercedes F1 during weekends when Mick Schumacher, the team's third driver, will be entered in rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship with Alpine. COOL Racing will field a second LM P2 in the European Le Mans Series for this 2024 season with Lorenzo Fluxa, Malthe Jakobsen and the reserve driver of Toyota Gazoo Racing, Ritomo Miyata.
