Iron Lynx completes its LM P2 crew with the debut of Macéo Capietto

At 18, French hopeful Macéo Capietto will discover endurance with the Iron Lynx team and the renowned Italian teammate, Matteo Cairoli.

For the first time in its existence, the Iron Lynx team is trying its hand at prototypes in Endurance. An Oreca 07 will be entered in the LM P2 class of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) in 2024, and the chosen trio of drivers will combine experience and youth. The official Lamborghini Squadra Corse driver in IMSA and 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMDh Matteo Cairoli will share the wheel with the young Frenchman Macéo Capietto (18 years old), while the German Jonas Ried, son of driver Christian Ried, will be the third man.

Andrea Piccini, team principal Iron lynx and CEO, was impressed by Macéo Capietto, who is coming off a season of Formula Regional Europe by Alpine (FRECA) finished in 8th place with RPM. " We are very happy to welcome Macéo to the team. He is a very talented driver who fits our family perfectly. Despite his young age, he has already proven himself in promotional formulas and demonstrated his speed and skills during testing with our GT3 during the winter.

Matteo (Cairoli) completes our team, and I am personally happy to see that he is being given additional track time in prototypes in 2024 to gain valuable experience also for the LMDh program. These two newcomers, along with Jonas, should form a strong team in ELMS this year. »

Iron Lynx also took the opportunity to announce a partnership with Proton Competition on this program. " We We have a fantastic and successful relationship with Proton Competition and I look forward to continuing it in 2024, and doing so with an LM P2 is a very exciting opportunity for us all. »

Iron Lynx will also compete in the ELMS in the GTE class with a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVo 2. For the moment, only the Japanese Hiroshi Hamaguchi has been confirmed.
