Jani: “No one will be allowed to make a mistake”

Cette année, les Lola du Rebellion Racing ont troqué leur V10 Judd contre un V8 Toyota. Le but avoué étant de se rapprocher de Peugeot and Audi. If the two endurance juggernauts are not present this weekend in the south of France for the 6 Hours of Le Castellet, the Swiss team was determined to display its ambitions from qualifying for the opening round of there Le Mans Series. Mission accomplished thanks to Neel Jani who, in 1'46"783, narrowly managed to prevent the Pescarolo Team from taking pole position for its return to competition.

“We are off to a good start for this 2011 season, underlines Jani. We have changed a lot of things on the car since last season. The Toyota engine is a real additional asset to our new technical package. We now have 6 hours of racing to complete to find out if the choices we made turned out to be the right ones. There is not much gap between the cars, it will be a very competitive race where no one will be allowed to make a mistake. »

After securing the first pole position in its history, Rebellion Racing hopes to pocket its first victory tomorrow. In any case, this will be the one and only goal of the Neel Jani-Nicolas duos Cheers and JC Boullion-Andrea Belicchi. But beware of Henri?s stable pescarolo which, although launching from the back of the grid (see here), will be keen to thwart the plans of the Swiss team.
