OAK Racing, confident for 2010

The off-season has been long for OAK Racing. After carrying out a final test session on the Magny-Cours circuit, the two Pescarolo chassis, now powered by a Judd V8, headed to the South of France, and more precisely to the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit, for the first round of Le Mans 2010 Series. For the 8 Hours of Le Castellet, as during the entire season, the two prototypes will be entrusted to the duos Guillaume Moreau-Richard Hein and Matthieu Lahaye-Jacques Nicolet. In addition to this change in engine, the cars have evolved aerodynamically. A development which should help Jacques Nicolet's team get closer to the leaders of the LMP2 category.

“Once again, the weather conditions of these two days of testing did not allow for as in-depth aero work as planned, says François Sicard, the Team Manager. But the few short dry track slots nevertheless confirmed the effectiveness of the different developments. The three drivers present, Guillaume Moreau, Matthieu Lahaye and Jacques Nicolet, took turns at the wheel of the two prototypes and got off with similar impressions and great enthusiasm, even before the engineers had really started working on the set-up. . The car has in fact gained a lot of downforce, which gives a more incisive and more directional front end. Even if the Magny-Cours circuit does not have the same specificities as the HTTT, these two days of testing were a real rehearsal, but the three free practice sessions will not be too much to attack the qualifications in good conditions, finding the right balance and a good top speed on the Mistral straight.”

More than ever, the LMP2 category promises to be very open. The challenge is significant for OAK Racing, which will have to face the HPD ARX-01c (formerly Acura) of Strakka Racing, the Lola of the RML team or the Ginetta Zytek of Quifel ASM, reigning champion.
