The ELMS continues for its 2015 calendar

The organizers of theELMS took advantage of the final held this weekend in Estoril (Portugal) to present the calendar for the next season. The events will be identical to those of this year with an opening at Silverstone and a final at Estoril. The French meeting will also be kept with a trip to Paul-Ricard (Var) which will also host the official tests. If the first event of the season will be carried out on the sidelines of the meeting of WEC, this race will be contested at the same time as the Blancpain round Endurance Series in Monza (Italy) and the qualifying race for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring (Germany). The 4 Hours of Imola will also be held on the same weekend as the Green Hell double clock.

“The provisional calendar for the 2015 ELMS season means stability and continuity for the teams and series partners”, commented Gérard Neveu, the general director of the ELMS. “Recovering the five circuits on which we raced this year will allow everyone to approach the events with serenity and with a good knowledge of each environment. The format of 4 hours of racing over two days, which we introduced in 2014, has been widely approved and appreciated by partners and ELMS teams, so we have chosen to continue with events of this duration. We will also continue with work on promoting events in order to further improve the attendance of spectators on our race weekends. The ELMS wants to remain the absolute benchmark for European endurance. »

Pierre Fillon, President of the ACO, is also pleased to see the ELMS benefit from new solid foundations. “The 2015 ELMS calendar reflects the very good health of the Championship. Since the revival of the series, the ELMS grid has increased significantly and enthusiasts have been able to attend exciting races on the most beautiful circuits in Europe. In 2015, we will also be able to count on a new category with the launch of LMP3, which has already attracted great interest from teams from all over Europe. We are convinced that the 2015 calendar will remain very attractive for all the current teams and that it will attract many other teams who wish to participate in the ELMS adventure. »
