Nicolas Armindo continues to impress

Nicolas, here you are again on pole, this time at Estoril. What is your secret?

We worked a lot this year, with IMSA Performance Matmut, with Raymond (Narac). He taught me a lot about the car, because I didn't know the RSR. Today I can say that I feel really comfortable with this car. The time I achieved during the third free practice session shows it.

You also beat the LM GTE Pro, is that a great performance?

It's true ! But I'm not unhappy with having driven slower in qualifying. This will allow us to avoid finding ourselves in the middle of the fight between the “pros” and taking an unnecessary bumper hit.

You seem focused on this point?

It's important to finish our race. If we can win it, so much the better, but that's not the goal. The most important thing is to finish the race and not to let go of the pressure. I don't want to think about the title yet and gloat. I stay focused on my goal, the finish line because, if we lose concentration, we will make mistakes.

Qu’avez-vous appris cette saison, après avoir remporté le titre en Porsche Carrera Cup Allemagne en 2010 ?

That there is a world after sprint races. Endurance races are much more interesting. The difference is enormous. In the Carrera Cup, only speed counts. In endurance, not only. You have to call on a lot of qualities: physical condition, piloting, thinking, organization, tactics? It is exciting !

Did you easily get used to sharing your seat?

When you do sprint racing, you can't imagine being able to do it! But, here too, it is more interesting. Humanly, it’s enriching. We work in symbiosis, we support each other. It’s the strength of the collective, which makes me think of a team sport. I love this sport! It's fulfilling.

Do you already have any ideas for 2012?

For the moment I do not know. I hope that people will notice the performances that we put in and that they will need me?
