Oak Racing, imperative result in Hungary

In mid-July, during the Algarve 1000 km, the two Oak Racing Pescarolos suffered from the same problem, a broken differential. If the No. 24 of Mathieu Lahaye and Jacques Nicolet will ultimately finish fourth, the No. 35 of Guillaume Moreau and Richard Hein will not see the checkered flag. For the first time this season, LMS plus 24 Hours of Le Mans, the team managed by François Sicard did not manage to put one of its two crews on the podium in the LMP2 category. The fourth round of the Le Mans Series, this weekend in Hungary, will therefore be an opportunity to forget this mishap, as Mathieu Lahaye confirms.

“The Hungaroring is a circuit on which I drove in the World Series and of which I appreciate the very technical side, explains the 2006 Eurocup Mégane Trophy runner-up. I was surprised that it was chosen for the Le Mans Series, but it will be an original race with traffic management and overtaking that will make the difference. You will have to remain very vigilant and very focused. It is at this price that we will finally be on the podium! »

The Pescarolos of the Nivernais team will not arrive in Budapest in unknown territory. At the start of the season, the French team went to the Hungarian track for Dunlop tests. Tests during which the cars showed themselves at ease.

“During the Dunlop tests, the cars behaved very well and I hope that this will be reflected in the race, says Guillaume Moreau. If we have a little success this time, despite a very high level of competition, we could even do an OAK Racing double. »

A double is all the harm we can wish for Jacques Nicolet?s troops. The two driver duos are currently tied for 3rd in the LMP2 drivers' championship, 18 points behind the leaders. To be able to challenge for the title in the final round at Silverstone, achieving a top-notch performance this Sunday in Hungary is therefore imperative.
