Peugeot holds on to its victory

La Peugeot 908 HDi FAP from Minassian, Klien and Pagenaud dominated the race from start to finish. The trio was in the lead after every hour of racing. The other car found itself out of the fight for victory after a muscular overtake by David Brabham on the No. 28 Courage, which  caused a 4-minute stop-and-go and a major mechanic's session to repair the suspension of the lioness.

Sporting interest then shifted to the other two steps of the podium. For a good part of the race, the Pescarolo of Boullion and Tinseau was fighting with the Oreca of Panis and Stone. It's finally the Pesca which puts its hood up in second position, ahead of the Lola at the finish line. Aston Martin 007, the one who won in Catalonia during the first round of the Le Mans Series.

The race was marked by numerous accidents, with the frequent entry of the safety car, remaining on the track for more than an hour in total. Spectators notably witnessed Bruno Senna?s impressive exit from the track. The Oreca team leaves Belgium with an injured driver and a damaged car. The Panis/Lapierre duo finally finished in fourth place, quite far from the podium.

La prestation des Audi R10 TDI du team Kolles a été une nouvelle fois décevante. Les deux allemandes terminent derrière la seconde Aston Martin et pas si loin devant les premières LMP2. Emmanuel Collard, associé à Elgaard et Poulsen, remporte la catégorie sur la Porsche RS Spyder du Team Essex.

Luc Alphand, Patrice Goueslard and Yann Clairay impose their Corvette C6.R in GT1. The GT2 was much more contested and it was the Porsche of Lieb / Lietz / Felbermayr which won under the nose and beard of the Ferrari by Garcia/Mansell/Melo.
