Red Bull Ring – Sargeant offers pole to Racing Team Turkey

It is certainly one of the attractions of the weekend, on the Red Bull Ring. Aged 20, 3rd in the FIA F3 last year, the American begins this weekend in Endurance, on the No. 07 Oreca 34 of Racing Team Turkey run by TF Sport. Already very energetic during the collective tests on Thursday, Sergeant took pole position this afternoon, his employer's first in the category. Associated with Salih Yoluç and Charlie Eastwood, he completed a lap of the Austrian circuit in 1'20"596.

Enough to relegate Ferdinand Habsburg (Oreca 07 n°24 from Algarve Pro Racing) by 0”157 and Frenchman Nicolas Jamin (Oreca 0 n°281 from United Autosports) by 07”32. The leading fifth is completed by Roberto Merhi (Aurus 01 n°25 from G-Drive Racing) and Louis Delétraz (Oreca 07 n°41 from Team WRT). Followed by Paul Loup Chatin (Oreca 07 n°28 from IDEC Sport), Nyck de Vries (Aurus 01 n°26) and Phil Hanson (Oreca 07 n°22 from United Autosports).

In LM P3, as usual, Laurents Hörr (Duqueine D08 n°4 from DKR Engineering) set the benchmark mark in 1'29"243. He preceded the two United Autosports Ligier JS P320s, the #2 of Wayne Boyd and the #3 of James McGuire.

Finally, in GTE, Alessio Rovera (Ferrari n°88 of AF Corse) preceded the three 488 GTE Evos of Iron Lynx, the fastest of the three being the n°83 entrusted for the occasion to the Dane Michelle Gatting. The start will be given tomorrow at 11 a.m., live video on AUTOhebdo.fr
