Toyota and Lola congratulate Rebellion Racing

Since this year, the Lolas fielded by Rebellion Racing have been powered by a 8-liter V3,4 supplied by TMG (Toyota Motorsport GmbH). Over the course of the races, the package gained momentum, as evidenced by the Le Mans Series victories at Imola then at Silverstone thanks to the Jean-Christophe Boullion / Andrea Belicchi duo. Two successes which allow Lola-Toyota to pocket the Manufacturers' crown before the final round, this weekend at Estoril. The Swiss team can also boast of having finished in 6th place in the last 24 Hours of Le Mans, and first “petrol” competitor, thanks to the crew including Nicolas Cheers to Neel Jani and Jeroen Bleekemolen.

“Winning the Manufacturers' title in the first year of this partnership with TMG, and for the last season during which LMP1s are accepted in LMS, is a great reward for all parties involved, underlines Alexandre Pesci, the Team Principal. I am very happy with what Bart has managed to accomplish this season (Hayden, the team manager, editor’s note) and the team thanks to their dedication, professionalism and efforts. I'm sure Hugh (Bart's father, who died at the beginning of the year, editor's note) would be proud of them. Now we must focus on the final round, where the Teams and Drivers titles have yet to be awarded. Battling against the great Pescarolo Team is no easy feat. »

Toyota GmbH and Lola too are satisfied with the work accomplished, as boss Yoshiaki Kinoshitan points out: “Congratulations to Rebellion Racing for this result. Since the beginning, our collaboration with Lola and Rebellion has been very productive and a great experience for everyone. » “It's rewarding to work with a team as professional as Rebellion Racing and an engine customer such as TMG who, like Lola, have a very meticulous approach to LMP1”, continues Martin Biranne, Lola’s boss.

And even if, as Bart Hayden points out, “this result is the best way to establish a long and solid relationship”, the season is far from over. This weekend in Estoril, Portugal, we will have to win the Drivers and Teams titles. If the Belicchi-Boullion and Prost-Jani duos are respectively one and ten points behind the Jousse-Tinseau-Collard trio, the team is two points ahead of the Pescarolo Team. Then, Belicchi, Prost and Jani will fly directly to Georgia to compete in Petit Le Mans, the penultimate round of the ILMC.
